I went for a walk today and found an indoor market. It was quite an eye-opening experience. They eat EVERYTHING here. The market had fish, eels (pictured), frogs, live chickens, a goat (already slaughtered), crabs, intestines, chicken feet, pig feet….YOU NAME IT. I was actually looking for scorpions, rats, cats and dogs (I was told that they eat them here) but could not find any. Apparently these dishes are considered delicacies and this market was not “upscale” enough for such items. I promise that before the end of this trip, I will try each and every one of the dishes that I mentioned. My camera will be there to prove it.
