I made some new friends as I was walking around my neighborhood. I tried to speak to them in the little Chinese that I know, but that got me absolutely nowhere. They were more excited to scream “Hello, Hello…What Is Your Name…Where are you From….What do You Do” even though they had no idea what my responses were. ALL schools teach English here from a pretty early age, so the kids had some grasp of the language…..but nothing that could actually be used to communicate. I showed them some of the pictures that I was taking and then took some of them…they got a kick out of it.
