I just came out of a 45 minute meeting with the CEO of the Midea Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Unit. I was quite nervous going in there, considering the fact that he is a senior executive with over 30,000 employees working in his division. Fortunately, he was a very friendly and social person with fairly strong skills in English. All that he wants to do is practice informal dialogue and discuss various topics for 45 minutes each week. The only thing that makes me nervous are cultual differences, I don't want to insult someone like him. I am unsure of how flexible I can be in the dialogue, which subjects are permissible and which are off limits. I guess I'll just keep it formal and try to refrain from telling "Dumb Blonde" jokes.
I sent him a followup e-mail with some notes from the meeting.
